A Macabre discovery…
Over the centuries Prague has suffered plagues, pogroms, wars, invasions, mass executions and political/religious repression… all reasons for its reputation as being the most haunted city in the world! Join Real Or Otherside Paranormal Research, as we investigate … The Old Town Hall, Prague.
Located in the Old Town area of Prague, The Town Hall is probably best known for its Astronomical Clock, located on the southern-side. Dating back to 1410, this is the oldest surviving clock of its type in the world. It wasn't this historical clock that was on our mind however, as we were led into the dark basements below the building itself…
One of the highlights of our investigation was being given access to a normally 'out of bounds to the public' area of the basement. Here lay rows upon rows of boxes containing hundreds of items of historical significance – left dusty and forgotten for decades, if not centuries. Most macabre was stumbling across boxes and boxes of what are believed to be a mixture of both animal and human bones, skulls and teeth. What purpose they served is not known, but what is clear is that they currently lay in a state of limbo – significant, but forgotten.
The investigation was held on Friday, 10th February 2012 and was Real Or Otherside’s first ever ‘International Investigation’.
In total we captured 1 hour of video and audio on our night-vision camcorder. After the initial review process we'd recorded a total of 8 potential 'hits’ which, after secondary analysis/enhancement, were reduced to 4 ’hits’ which we believe to be of interest (and are presenting here).
We have graded each hit against our R.O.O. SCALE , to provide a guide as to how ‘unusual’ we believe them to be. Ultimately however, only you can decide … is it Real Or Otherside? More details on how we analyse, review and present evidence can be found in our Techniques section.
EVIDENCE SUMMARY VIDEO
Rather than you sitting through the many hours of footage we captured on location (not always the most interesting of viewing to be honest!), we have produced a video containing the evidence highlights from the investigation. It is important to point out however that whilst the footage is condensed into this ‘digestible’ format, what you see and hear is as it happened on location.
The only modifications made during the editing process are volume increases for some of the low-level audio hits, along with minor cuts to provide a compressed version of events, should the event take place over several minutes.
Now sit back, relax, watch the video and decide for yourself … is it Real Or Otherside?
During any investigation we hope to capture hits on our equipment, which we can then present to you as evidence. However, we will often have experiences that don’t get (can’t be) captured by our equipment. We refer to these as Personal Experiences, and present these to you now, along with our thoughts on the location itself:
It was a real privilege being given the opportunity to investigate the basements below Prague’s Old Town Hall. Whilst only there for a relatively short period, we had several experiences, most of which are actually backed up by the evidence footage we present here.
What’s important to remember is that there were only three of us in the basement, we were several floors underground, and aside from the initial entrance room (where there was some noise pollution from outside) it is very hard to dismiss the noises we heard as being caused by outside interferers.
Other than these knocks and whistles, what we can’t get across in the video is the strange sense of foreboding in certain areas. These areas being the same places where the majority (if not all) the activity was experienced (and recorded).
For me the highlight was being given access to a normally 'out of bounds to the public' area of the vaults.
I'd like to finish by thanking Jessica for being an excellent and knowledgeable host… and for going that extra mile to make our evening special and very memorable! We look forward to returning to Prague and the vaults, perhaps for that overnight investigation we discussed!…
